At Deemply, people are at the heart of our vision. Every member of our team brings their own personality, expertise, and talents to contribute to our collective success. Today, we are thrilled to introduce you to Thibault, our Business Development Manager. This profile will explore his background, personality, and passions.
Thibault: A career path rooted in sales
Early beginnings in sales
After middle school, Thibault pursued a vocational high school diploma (BAC PRO) in Sales, which he began in Nantes. This period was a turning point in his personal development, as he had to reluctantly board at his school. Since his family home was too far away, Thibault would have faced a 90-minute commute each way every day, so his parents decided he should live on campus.
Despite his initial reservations, he grew to enjoy boarding school. The daily camaraderie made him want to stay in that environment. Unfortunately, his wishes were not to be granted. Toward the end of the year, his parents announced that he would have to leave because the family was moving to the Ardèche region for a professional opportunity. This was difficult for Thibault to accept, as he had met Annette—now his partner—during that first year. Despite the distance, they chose to stay together, and Thibault moved to Aubenas with his parents. He continued his studies while keeping his goal of returning to the Nantes area to reclaim his former life in mind. To complete his diploma, Thibault undertook various internships in retail, where he worked as a sales advisor.
The desire to help: Aspiring to join the Gendarmerie
While working toward his diploma, Thibault developed a desire for a career involving action and helping others. He decided to prepare for the non-commissioned officer exam to join the Gendarmerie. At the time, he considered ending his studies after high school to join law enforcement, but a conversation with a gendarme dissuaded him. The officer he spoke with advised him to pursue a two-year higher education degree (BAC +2) to qualify directly as a non-commissioned officer, rather than joining immediately after high school at a lower rank. Thibault understood the logic and realized that two extra years would also give him time to mature and confirm that he was truly committed to a career in law enforcement.
Still determined to return to his life in Nantes, Thibault left his family and moved back to pursue his BTS NDRC (Sales and Customer Relations degree). To continue gaining professional experience, he chose to complete this degree through a work-study program and joined the Rezé handball club as a sponsorship manager. His daily tasks involved reaching out to potential sponsors to secure new partnerships for the club.
This choice allowed him to gain independence, thanks to the trust his parents placed in him. Thibault began his professional life and earned his BTS after two years of apprenticeship. During this time, however, he didn't find true fulfillment in his tasks, and his desire to become a gendarme faded away.
A new direction toward entrepreneurship
A new life project emerged: he wanted to start his own business. As the son of two entrepreneurs, Thibault had the entrepreneurial spirit in his blood and wanted to build an innovative project of his own.
To give himself the best chance of success, he chose to enroll in a bachelor's program that would lead to a Business Development Manager certification. To continue gaining skills from entrepreneurs, he completed this year as a work-study program in the publishing sector. He sold stationery and various wall decorations, prospecting across a wide area stretching from the northwest to Brittany.
Entering the full-time workforce
After finishing his bachelor's degree, Thibault remained driven by entrepreneurship. He decided to leave the academic world to join the workforce, aiming to generate capital for his future professional project.
A first experience in the banking sector and his arrival at Deemply
His first full-time role was at the headquarters of a French bank. For seven months, he handled incoming calls and promoted various banking services. Following this, he was promoted and transferred to a branch on the west coast, where he quickly advanced, becoming a client manager in less than eighteen months.
In the months that followed, the branch management changed, and Thibault no longer felt at home in an environment that was the polar opposite of his personality and values.
Stéphane’s offer to join the team resonated with him. The company’s needs were a perfect match for Thibault’s skills. He wanted to work for a company with a sense of purpose and genuine values.
Thibault’s personality and passions
Thibault is a lifelong learner, driven by a desire to discover and explore a wide range of subjects. This thirst for knowledge was passed down to him by his father.
He is a man of strong character who reflects the upbringing he received from his parents. He is incredibly thoughtful toward others and his colleagues. During our conversation, he explained that for him, thoughtfulness means managing his behavior to ensure he never inconveniences others. This speaks volumes about his personality. Thibault is always mindful of others' well-being and considers the impact of his actions. The mantra "every action has a consequence" guides his words and deeds daily. Grateful for his life, he shared that who he is today is a result of the foundation his parents provided. Everything they passed on to him helped shape the person he has become.
Thibault is open-minded and plans to travel once he has launched his own business. For him, travel is a way to discover new cultures and enrich himself through the knowledge of others.
While he is very thoughtful, he also has a strong personality. When asked what his loved ones would say about him, he admits they would describe him as ambitious, impatient, and stubborn. Aware that these traits aren't always to his advantage, he works hard to improve himself every day. It is always easier to admit one's flaws than one's strengths in an interview, but we can confirm that Thibault has many great qualities. He is kind, as we mentioned earlier, but he is also a fair man who always gives 100% to every project he takes on.
Beyond the values instilled by his parents, he also learned a great deal from sports. Thibault is an athlete who played handball for 12 years before stopping after the 2020 lockdown. He also enjoys surfing, regularly sharing time on the water with his father and family during vacations. Today, he hopes to get back into enduro biking, as he is very passionate about the sport.
